The collective works of K. Lambacher

Confessed information hoarder and latte junkie, dissecologist of words, sarcasm guru and conspiracy theorist with a 99% accuracy rating. Infected with a severe case of "stick-it-to-the-man-itis". I stand accused of being a Master Eye-Roller (which I neither confirm nor deny). Attempting to stay sane while writing a book and looking after two crazy wiener dogs!
A little about me...
My name is Kim, and I was born and raised in Ohio, where the patch of land by the road is called a devil strip, a vacuum is called a sweeper, and every variety of soda is called pop. And, of course, where Lebron is from. It is true that when anyone yells "OH!" at least one person will respond with "IO!" I have lived in Ohio for most of my life, except for the five and a half years I lived in Kennesaw, Georgia - I consider myself both a Buckeye and an honorary Peach.
My most rewarding roles have been as a wife, mother, and now a grandmother. But after being diagnosed with a rare spinal tumor in 2017, I had to re-examine that life and adjust to not just being a regular person, but a "person in pain." Lola (yes, I named my tumor) left me with unrelenting neuropathy that is now a part of my identity. Still, I have to thank Lola as she did something no one or anything else could accomplish - she gave me the courage to open myself up and share my writing with others.
Every writer probably remembers when they realized words are their gift. My moment came in the fourth grade, when my teacher told the class to write a few sentences about a frog. After reading my story about a frog who gets lost on his way home and finds himself in all sorts of mischief. Mrs. Smith's blue eyes danced as she smiled at me and said with certainty, "You are meant to be a writer." Now, when the writing goblin known as doubt creeps in to visit, I just try to recall her eyes and voice that day and plow through my insecurity. I think I was destined for investigative journalism because the joke in my family was that my first word was not "mama" but "why."
In my spare time, I love hanging out with family and our two precocious dachshunds (George and Henry), reading, traveling, visiting historical sites and waterfalls, hiking, playing word games and reading legal documents for fun (don't judge me!)
